The Education field is undergoing changes day by day. Though hundreds of educational techniques and technologies are emerging due to the unending efforts of the ‘think tankers’ in the current scenario, their contributions or commitments are not sufficient enough to reach a level that can be considered optimum.
The purpose of learning may differ from person to person, everybody has their own aspirations and desires and wants to mould their future themselves. The empirical as well as the emotional aspects of education plays some major roles in individual life. Every individual is a store house of potentialities and it is education that makes one aware of this fact.
Children are the future citizens of every nation and the strength of the nation depends fully on the physical, mental and spiritual potentialities of its citizens. Education is meant for making a conscious awareness in every individual; his /her role and responsibility in building a healthy society, where people live in peace and harmony. Purposeful teaching imparts practical knowledge to students for a disciplined life, enabling them to stand face-to-face with reality, with an unwavering boldness that inculcates concern towards the nation.
St Gregorios H S School is one of the oldest ICSE schools in Rourkela. The Year 2025 is the 45th year of its establishment here. Ever since its beginning in a rented building in 1981 with a nominal number of students, we have been witnessing the blessings and the grace of Almighty God in every bit of its growth.
Our school has grown up from its childhood inadequacies to a glorious level within a short span of time, with sufficient infrastructure in every field, academic as well as non academic, befitting the status of a competent English medium school, within the vicinity of Rourkela township.
A calm and peaceful area surrounded by tall trees and green bushes, four beautiful, three storied buildings in three and a half acres of land, sufficient place for indoor and outdoor games, beautiful gardens, a convenient place for school assembly, eco friendly atmosphere in and around the campus, enough school buses for providing conveyance to children coming from far away places like Kuarmunda, Kalunga, Chikkanmati, Panposh, Daily market, Basanti colony, Chhend, etc. are some of the salient features of our school.
Every year, a good number of students bag marks above 90% in the matric (Class X Board examination ) (ICSE) and the school secures 100% pass result with maximum number of students securing distinction and first division. 35 batches of ICSE students and 9 batches of ISC students have passed out from the school with flying colours. In the field of extra curricular activities and inter school competitions, many of our students have secured trophies for their outstanding performance.
The philanthropic and charitable initiatives of our school is being greatly appreciated by the public. Other than giving freeship and fee concession to a number of students, we have adopted a village, viz. Dumorjore, near Mandira Dam, for giving medical treatment free of cost to the poor, needy and downtrodden.
Last but not the least important the Alumini of our School are well placed in Public and private sector companies in India and Abroad, they are not only Successful and but are also happy in their lives which gives immense satisfaction to us.
